QProofs: "Learn Our Comms"
A look back at how Q trained the anons on 4chan/8chan to interpret their cryptic method of communication.
This article is part of my Ultimate QProofs series. Please consider supporting my work as a citizen journalist with a paid subscription of $5 per month or $45 per year. Thank you!
After arriving on 4chan in October 2017, ‘Q’ dedicated the first several months of their backchannel communications to the recruitment of ‘anons’, and to training them to become an elite task force of ‘digital soldiers’.
This ‘Band of Anons’ would soon be deployed onto the Digital Battlefield with the mission of posting research and facts to counter the blitzkrieg of Fake News propaganda.
Before sending new recruits into battle, Q would first help anons gain a “big picture” overview of the entrenched ‘deep state’ corruption they would be fighting to expose.
In order to inform anons without leaking classified information, Q asked leading questions and pointed to a variety of open-source “breadcrumbs” of information. Anons were then tasked with piecing together these crumbs, resulting in their uncovering the “spiderweb” of players that have conspired to subvert the US government.
The first several hundred Q drops inundated anons with clues to ‘dig’ into, and it was immediately apparent that piecing together the puzzle would be a massive undertaking, requiring a significant commitment of time and energy from volunteer digital soldiers.
Given the enormity of the task at hand, anons needed confirmation that Q was a legitimate insider serving “at the pleasure of the President”, and not just a basement dwelling prankster undertaking a ‘LARP’ (Live Action Role Play).
In order to verify themselves, Q established a series of ‘proofs’ in the form of ‘coincidences’.
Throughout the first several months of Q’s backchannel comms, the ‘QProofs’ provided were complex and puzzling. By making these early proofs challenging to decipher, this enabled Q to attract the best and brightest ‘autists’ – a subset of 4chan anons who self-identify as being on the autistic spectrum.
The cryptic nature of Q’s early ‘comms’ also allowed the movement to stay confined to ‘the chans’ (the collective name for 4chan/8chan/8kun) whilst new recruits underwent the ‘digital solider’ equivalent of basic training. This would allow anons the time to develop into a cohesive unit before being subject to direct attacks from the Fake News (“the enemy of the people”).
By the time the Fake News launched their coordinated attack on ‘QAnon’ in the summer of 2018, anons were already well informed about the history of the CIA’s Operation Mockingbird, as well as the complicity of the media in a variety of seditious conspiracies. Anons recognized that their newly honed ability to spread information across the Digital Battlefield now posed a threat to the MSM’s control of the narrative, and this had put the Fake News into “full blown panic mode”.
Given the high morale, the smear campaign launched against ‘QAnon’ failed to demoralize digital soldiers, and instead each attack by the MSM was considered to be a “badge of honor - military grade”.
Analysis of QProofs
This article provides an analysis of the cryptic ‘proofs’ from the early days of the ‘Q’ backchannel (November 2017–December 2018) that helped to entice autists and retain their services as digital soldiers.
Given the importance of allowing President Trump the ability to retain plausible deniability throughout his first term in office, no individual ‘proof’ is meant to definitively confirm the connection between Q and their Commander in Chief.
Instead, it is the continuous series of ‘coincidences’ taken together which make it a near certainty that Q’s drops are legitimate.

DOITQ
On November 8, 2017, the one-year anniversary of Trump’s election victory, the President tweeted to congratulate his supporters once again.
At this point, Q had been posting on 4chan for 10 days, and autists were beginning to hyper-analyze President Trump’s activity on Twitter in search of clues as to his potential connection to the purported military intelligence insider.
These attentive anons noticed several interesting things about this tweet:
Firstly, anons discovered that if you ‘right click’ on the image and then click ‘Save Image As…’ the filename is “DOITQJ8UIAAowsQ.jpg”.
Secondly, the way in which the members of Trump’s team were posing with their thumbs up appeared slightly over-choreographed and awkward to anons. It was then discovered that if you join the dots between the thumbs, it makes a ‘Q’.
Thirdly, this “DOITQ” message was tweeted at *17* minutes past the hour. As we will see throughout this article and others in my Conspiracy No More series, QProofs often emphasise this number given that Q is the 17th letter of the alphabet.
Whilst subtle, these coincidences were enough for 4chan anons to give Q the benefit of the doubt, and to motivate them to continue following Q’s trail of breadcrumbs…
MAGAPILL Retweet
The first online news website to write about Q’s drops on 4chan was MAGAPILL, which published an article “Q Clearance Patriot: The Storm and The Awakening” on November 19, 2017.
Coincidentally, several days after this article was published, President Trump retweeted @MAGAPILL, directing his millions of followers to the site where on the homepage they would find the link to the Q article:
The internet archive site, Wayback Machine, shows that MAGAPILL suffered a server outage around the time of this POTUS retweet.
Was this due to their web servers being overloaded by an unexpectedly high volume of traffic following @realDonaldTrump’s retweet? Or was this an early example of a cyber-attack by the deep state to prevent this ‘Q’ article gaining wider exposure?
Twitter keywords - coincidence?
Occasionally, Q drops feature a coded ‘stringer’ of text. This seems to be a way for Q to use their backchannel to transmit commands to other members of their team across different departments within the US government.
Q drop #232 featured the following cryptic stringer of text:
This stringer is fairly straightforward. Let’s try to break it down:
“_Conf_go” = confirm go / proceed with order;
”TWIT_P_act” = Twitter POTUS account;
”small#” = use of the word “small” together with a “#”.
At the time this stringer was posted by Q, @realDonaldTrump had not tweeted for over 21 hours. This was an unusual period of silence for such a prolific Tweeter!
Coincidentally, just 5 minutes after Q’s drop, President Trump used Twitter to share a message regarding “#SmallBusinessSaturday”:
This was one of the first examples of a Q/POTUS ‘delta’: a method of proof to show close proximity between Q and President Trump.
Q/POTUS deltas would become the most frequently used form of QProof during the Trump administration. Given that there are so many examples, I will dedicate a separate Substack article to the analysis of these delta proofs in the future (subscribe to be notified when it goes live).
In the meantime, I have a thread on Twitter with graphics to illustrate these deltas:
Pics - coincidence?
On November 3, 2017, President Trump embarked on a 12-day trip across Asia, which included visits to Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
During the time period of this Asia trip, Q attempted to demonstrate their connection to President Trump by sharing photos purporting to have been taken aboard Air Force One (“AF1”).
On November 7, 2017, Q shared an image with the filename “_AF1_5A.png”:
I used Google Earth to determine that this photo was taken over Hong Kong. Below is _AF1_5A.png shown alongside a Google Earth screenshot of the same location:
On the day this photo was shared by Q (Nov 7, 2017), President Trump would travel from Seoul, South Korea, to Beijing, China. It is therefore not possible that this could have been taken from Air Force One with Trump aboard on that specific day:
It is possible that this photo could have been taken by an envoy or members of the US Secret Service travelling in advance of President Trump to make preparations for his arrival at the next destination on his Asia tour.
_AF1_5A_2.png
Several days later on November 10, 2017, President Trump departed Beijing, China, for Dang Nam, Vietnam. Once again, Q shared a photo from inside an aircraft, this time naming the image _AF1_5A_2.png:
The photo was also taken near Hong Kong – this time over some islands just off the coast. Here is another side-by-side of Q’s photo alongside a Google Earth screenshot:
President Trump’s tweets provided anons with an insight into his travel schedule for that day:
President Trump departs Beijing: 9:17 AM CST
President Trump arrival in Da Nang: 1:45 PM CST
Approximate flight time: 4 hours, 28 minutes (or 268 minutes).
With this journey from Beijing to Da Nang, President Trump could feasibly have taken a flight path that would pass over Hong Kong, thereby allowing the “AF1_5A_2” photo to have been taken from aboard Air Force One.
I used Google Earth to illustrate a potential flight path that AF1 could have taken for this journey:
As we can see, Air Force One would have travelled over Hong Kong approximately 2/3rds of the way through the journey (176 minutes into the 268-minute flight).
With a departure time of 9:17 AM, this would mean that Air Force One would have flown over Hong Kong (the vantage point for _AF1_5A_2.png) at approximately 12:13 PM.
Q shared “_AF1_5A_2.png” at 12:31 PM, which is approximately 17 minutes after the time we would expect AF1 to have passed over the location in the photo. Coincidence?
While this is by no means definitive proof of Q being an insider working with President Trump, it was another subtle ‘coincidence’ that generated enough intrigue with anons to motivate them to continue digging.
AF1_5A photos used to re-verify Q’s identity
We later learnt that _AF1_5A_2.png was one image in a stream of photos taken by Q in preparation for the event that they needed to re-verify their identity.
Following a slip-up by Q in May 2018 that resulted in their password being exposed, there was some concern amongst anons that Q’s tripcode ID might have been hijacked by an imposter.
Q quickly put these concerns to rest by sharing a second photo from the same sequence taken over the islands off the coast of Hong Kong.
Below are two images shown side-by-side:
• _AF1_5A_2.png (left) – shared by Q on November 9, 2017 (4chan);
• _AF1_5A_3.png (right) – shared by Q six months later on May 22, 2018 (8chan).
The images are very similar, but astute observers will notice that they are subtly different. The second photo appears to have been taken several seconds after the first and therefore shows a slightly different view of the islands off the coast of Hong Kong, as well as a slight difference in the skyline/cloud formation.
Access to this same set of photos proved that Q was the same entity posting on 8chan in May 2018 as had been posting on 4chan in November 2017. Q then explained how they had prepared this stream of photos taken at 2-second intervals:
The pic will ‘force’ the Q
In an upcoming article I will share my speculative theory as to how these “AF1_5A” photos will be used again in the future to ‘force’ the mainstream media to #AsktheQ – i.e. to ask the sitting president “who is Q?” – a question which will result in “direct confirmation“ of the Q backchannel.

EO13818 - “We listened”
Long before Jeffery Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were arrested (July 6, 2019, and July 2, 2020, respectively), Q’s early drops in November 2017 hinted at the “hard to swallow” truth regarding human trafficking amongst the elites.
Q highlighted Epstein Island as a destination set up as a “honeypot” trap designed to lure in influential figures within politics, media, Hollywood and science/academia, in order to gain compromising material with which to blackmail them.
Q hinting at this was particularly troubling to 8chan anons who wanted assurance that something was being done to combat this unfathomable crime against humanity:
Q responded to this anon’s concern, affirming that this issue was a “high priority”. Q also informed anons that the corruption purge in Saudi Arabia in November 2017 had made an impact on disrupting world wide human trafficking lanes:
Two days after this exchange between Q and the 8chan anon, President Trump signed an Executive Order, 13818:
That evening, Q posted to encourage anons to find the exchange from two days earlier, and stated that this Executive Order had been published as a response:
One anon identified Q’s drop from December 19, and highlighted the emphasis Q had placed on [H]aiti, the [R]ed Cross, and [C]lassified in relation to human trafficking:
Another anon annotated this post to provide context to Q’s crumb:
Q has provided additional insight on the [H][R][C] connection to human trafficking. I will cover this in an upcoming article: QProof: ‘Madam Alice’ (subscribe to be notified when it is published).
Eric Schmidt resigns from Alphabet (the parent company of Google)
Hours after President Trump signing Executive Order 13818 was made public, it was announced that Eric Schmidt (“ES”) had resigned as chairman of Alphabet (the parent company to Google and YouTube):
Two days later, Q drew the attention of anons toward a strange and secretive trip that the Google CEO had taken to North Korea back in 2013:
Over the next several months, Q would drop more ‘crumbs’ that hinted at the potential role Eric Schmidt might have played in setting up a private network in North Korea that would allow for members of the deep state to communicate covertly with one another, as well as their foreign donors (‘puppet masters’):
“Track resignations”
Following the curious timing of the “ES” resignation, Q instructed anons to keep track of other CEOs and business leaders leaving their respective companies – the implication being that there would be many more who could be in some way threatened by EO13818 and the prospect of their corrupt practices being brought to light during “the storm”.
Interestingly, in the years following the signing of EO 13818, there was an unprecedented level of CEOs who resigned from their position. This was particularly unusual given that the economy was on a steep upward trajectory during the first 3 years of the Trump administration:
Misspellings Matter:
Another way for Q and President Trump to provide subtle acknowledgment to anons on 4chan/8chan is the deliberate use of misspellings on Twitter.
Example 1: Win/When
In the early morning hours of January 7, 2018, Q posted drop #492. This appeared to feature a typo, with the word “when” misspelt as “win”.
That same evening (around *17* hours later), President Trump posted a two-part tweet to quote sections of a New York Post column by author Michael Goodwin which had been published the previous day on January 6, 2018.
President Trump’s tweet misquoted Goodwin, seemingly accidentally writing the word “consensual presidency” rather than “consequential presidency”:
Shortly thereafter, Q returned to point out how it was a ‘coincidence’ that their drop earlier in the day had misspelt “when” as “win”, and now President Trump had featured a misspelling when quoting Michael Goodwin. Q also pointed out the “[15]” minute delta between parts 1 and 2 of Trump’s twitter thread:
Q then posted again to highlight the previous Q/POTUS ‘delta’ markers we had seen up to this point, and also informed anons of an upcoming “[1]” minute marker:
Minutes later, President Trump deleted his previous tweets quoting Michael Goodwin’s article, and republished a corrected version. This time the two tweets were separated by a [1] minute delta:
Q then posted again to draw attention to the fact that President Trump’s initial tweet had misspelt “consequential” without a “q”, and that they had accurately predicted the [1] minute delta between his corrected tweets:
Q then emphasised that this was their way to communicate specifically with the anons/autists on 8chan:
To help 8chan anons understand this cryptic proof, Q provided a summary of the sequence of events that had just occurred:
QProof graphics = “a MUST”
At this stage, Q also emphasized the importance of creating graphics which illustrate the QProofs, so that it would be easy for newcomers to the drops to comprehend these ‘coincidences’ at a glance.
At this early stage, Q comms were directed predominantly toward anons/autists on 8chan. However, it was clear that Q wanted eventually to recruit more digital soldiers from the wider MAGA community to provide reinforcements as the Information War continues to intensify.
This particular “Win/When” QProof clicked for one anon, who wrote up an excellent explanation which was shared by Q in drop #508:
Congressman *Good* clears path for McCarthy to *win* Speakership
During this period of Q’s early comms, it was established that the cryptic drops provided “markers” for future events, with Q confidently stating that “news unlocks” and “future proves past”.
It was notable to anons that exactly 5 years after Q’s “Win/When” proof involving the [15] minute delta between President Trump’s misspelt tweets, it was on the 15th ballot that Kevin McCarthy was able to win the vote to become Speaker of the House.
The timing appeared to be perfect: in the same way that Q’s drop #492 was made in the early hours of January 7, 2018, voting for the 15th ballot went into the early morning hours of Saturday January 7, 2023.
If that were not coincidental enough, one of the Republicans who voted “present” to clear the way for McCarthy to win was Representative Bob Good:
5:5 / “I hear you”
Q’s drops have established a shorthand for communicating with anons. One term that Q has used frequently is “5:5”. This is a way for Q to ask anons if they understand their cryptic communication.
This terminology origins from Q code, used for radiotelegraph communication and amateur radio:
“SIG_5:5_READ”
On February 14, 2018, there was a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the town of Parkland, Florida. 17 students were tragically killed. The following week, on February 21, 2018, President Trump invited students and members of staff from the school to the White House.
Prior to the meeting commencing, President Trump was photographed holding a notecard. The media attempted to criticize Trump for point 5 on his notecard which read “I hear you”.
Anons noted the unusual way President Trump appeared to be holding this note card with five fingers:
Later that evening, Q used the expression “5:5” for the first time in drop #803. This drop also featured an unusual empty box with 58 spaces.
The following morning, President Trump tweeted his support of the National Rifle Association (NRA), who were being attacked in the wake of the Parkland shooting. Interestingly this tweet also contained an unusual number of blank spaces:
This was notable given that Q’s drop the previous evening had also featured a notable use of blank spaces. 8chan anons then drew a connection between these 3 things:
Point #5 on President Trump’s notecard which read “I hear you”
“SIG_5:5_READ” and the blank spaces in a recent Q drop
The blank spaces in @realDonaldTrump’s tweet re: NRA
Q responded to tell anons that their interpretation was correct, and that they were making good progress at “learning our comms”:
Minutes later, Q posted again to encourage anons to count the number of spaces in both Q’s drop and @realDonaldTrump’s tweet in order to “match meaning”:
Q’s “SIG_5:5_READ” drop featured 58 spaces within the brackets.
With President Trump’s tweet, there were 18 consecutive spaces in the gap. This could be added to the previous 40 spaces in the tweet to bring the total to 58 spaces.
Tippy Top Shape
On January 30, 2018, an 8chan anon requested that Q arrange for the phrase “tip top” be included in President Trump’s State of the Union (SOTU) Address:
This request was made on the evening prior to the SOTU, so the speech would likely have already been written and finalized.
However, several weeks later, whilst standing next to a White Rabbit, President Trump said the following…
This immediately caught the attention of anons, who were quick to retrieve and re-share the request from weeks prior:
Interestingly, this coincidence happened 5 months and 5 days after the first Q drop:
This appeared to be another way for President Trump’s to signal to anons that he was listening and that he could read them loud and clear (5:5). This was echoed in a drop several days later which was signed by “Q+”.
Misspellings Matter: “Memebers of Congress”
One of the primary reasons the Q team desired to recruit anons and autists is their ability to engage in memetic warfare. On a digital battlefield, memes are a highly effective form of weaponry in countering Fake News media propaganda.
Memes are designed to condense a broad message into a simple, easy-to-digest graphic that can be circulated widely (i.e. to go “viral”). These memes can be an effective way to disrupt a person’s echo-chamber/group-think and help to prompt critical thinking.
This method of distributing information is particularly effective in our modern age since we all have a shortened attention span, and, to varying degrees, we are all addicted to our devices/social media and seeking our next dopamine hit.
It is also said that the left can not meme because the false reality created by the MSM requires layers of context and is therefore impossible to condense into a simple graphic:
In April 2018, President Trump made a curious misspelling, seemingly as a hat-tip to the meme-makers on 4chan/8chan:
Q’s responded to highlight this coincidence, and to remind anons that “misspellings matter”:
Misspellings Matter: “Acquisitions”
Occasionally, Q conducts “Q&A” sessions to provide anons the opportunity to ask the military intelligence specialists within the Q team whatever conspiracy-related question they could dream up.
On September 19, 2018, Q held their second Q&A:
This session garnered some interesting responses from Q:
During this particular Q&A session, one anon took the opportunity to ask Q to set up a QProof whereby President Trump would make another deliberate misspelling featuring a “q” with one of his tweets:
Several days later, on September 24, 2018, President Trump tweeted about the smear campaign that was being launched at the time against his Supreme Court Justice nominee, Brett Kavanaugh. Coincidentally, the word “accusations” had somehow been misspelt “acquisitions”:
The tweet was deleted and a corrected version posted 13 minutes later:
An anon then created a graphic to illustrate this QProof, and thanked Q for fulfilling their request. Q responded, and likened the collective power of anons on 8chan to a “hive mind”:
Word request: “knowledge”
December 10, 2018 was an unusually quiet Twitter day for @realDonaldTrump.
After just two early morning tweets at 6:46 AM and 7:00 AM EST, several hours went by without any further Twitter activity.
Given this unusual period of inactivity, an 8chan anon used the opportunity to request a new proof, and asked Q to arrange for POTUS to include the word “knowledge” in his next tweet:
It wasn’t until 7 hours after the anon’s request that President Trump tweeted again, meaning Trump was inactive for a total of 14 hours.
@realDonaldTrump’s new tweet was a two-parter, and coincidentally the latter tweet included the word “acknowledging”.
The same anon then posted again to share a screenshot of their request alongside @realDonaldTrump’s tweet.
Q then responded to confirm the request had been fulfilled, and also pointed out how there was a 17-minute delta between Trump’s tweets.
These were the only extra tweets by the President on that day: @realDonaldTrump didn’t tweet again until the morning of December 11, 2018.
Expanding beyond 8chan
By the end of 2018, 8chan anons had developed into “a massive group of dedicated gold star researchers” who possessed a keen understanding of Information Warfare, and who were dominating the digital battlefield.
Meanwhile, other ‘citizen journalists’ had joined the fight, and had stationed themselves across other more mainstream social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
These included names such as
, , and , and these patriots played an important role in interpreting Q’s drops and making them accessible to the wider MAGA community. The year 2018 also saw the launch of numerous Q-aggregator websites which provided a feed of all of Q’s drops. These included qanon.pub (launched in March 2018), and the now defunct QMAP.pub (launched June 2018). The aggregator sites made it possible for patriots within the wider MAGA community to read all of Q’s drops without ever having to visit or have knowledge of 4chan/8chan. This lead to exponential growth of the movement.
The QProofs become more blatant
To help a wider audience appreciate that Q was indeed a legitimate insider, the proofs would become less cryptic, whilst still appearing to be ‘coincidental’ enough to allow President Trump and his team plausible deniability.
